15 Migrants Denied Entry to Germany, Highlighting Complex Routes and Smuggling Concerns

On Saturday, August 30, the Rosenheim Federal Police denied entry to 15 migrants attempting to enter Germany near Kiefersfelden on the A93. All migrants were returned to Austria.

The group consisted of nine migrants from Libya and six Chinese nationals. The Libyan migrants had previously arrived on Lampedusa and were staying in an Italian refugee camp. They traveled to Germany in a Polish-registered tour bus from Bologna. The Chinese migrants, on the other hand, had journeyed through Turkey, Bosnia, Croatia, and Italy before attempting to enter Germany by train from Verona.

Both groups were suspected of being guided by smugglers, although no specific details about any suspected individuals were provided. The Federal Police inspector involved in preventing their illegal entry remains unnamed.

The 15 migrants were denied entry and returned to Austria. Their attempted journey highlights the complex routes and methods used by migrants seeking to enter Germany. The incident also raises concerns about potential human smuggling networks.
