A Palatial hotel in Europe has been crowned the finest luxury establishment globally.
In the heart of Amsterdam's historic canal district, a UNESCO World Heritage site, lies the illustrious Rosewood Amsterdam. This prestigious hotel has earned the coveted title of the world's best luxury hotel today, thanks to its rich history, masterful design, exceptional service, and tailored experiences.
The hotel, housed in the former Palace of Justice built in 1665, is a testament to the city's past. Its public spaces are adorned with carefully restored architectural details, evoking the rich history of the Palace of Justice. The renovation of Rosewood Amsterdam took a decade to complete, resulting in 134 ultra-luxe rooms and suites, designed by renowned Dutch designer Piet Boon.
Each room and suite offers breathtaking views of the canals, interior courtyards, and traditional roofs of the city. Some rooms are historic houses, nestled under the sloping roofs, featuring a butler service. The hotel also boasts a 223 m² ballroom bathed in natural light, serving as a refined setting for private events.
Rosewood Amsterdam is a culinary destination, with several distinct restaurants. Eeuwen sublimates local products, Advocatuur distills jenever (a Dutch gin) on site and cooks samosas in a Tandoor oven, and three other culinary spaces offer a variety of dining experiences.
The hotel's concierge service is second to none, able to arrange exclusive experiences such as private tours of the Anne Frank House, helicopter rides over tulip fields before crowds arrive, and private entry to the Rijksmuseum. Gwen Kozlowski, an expert who contributed to the ranking, describes Rosewood Amsterdam as a "gamechanger" in luxury hospitality. Jules Maury, who heads the luxury concierge service Scott Dunn Private, says it's "one of those rare city hotels that manages to be both exhilarating and welcoming, like a home."
In addition to its world-class restaurants and exceptional concierge service, Rosewood Amsterdam also houses a state-of-the-art Asaya® spa, a fitness center, and an indoor pool. This luxury hotel, now a proud symbol of Amsterdam, marks the arrival of the prestigious Rosewood brand in the Netherlands. It's no wonder that in 2025, Rosewood Amsterdam was crowned the best luxury hotel in the world by Robb Report.
