After more than two years of suspension, Aeroflot is set to resume regular flights from Moscow to Gelendzhik starting on July 18, 2025. The announcement comes as Gelendzhik Airport reopens its doors to civil aviation and domestic flights following a closure due to the suspension of flights amid Russia's special military operation in Ukraine.

The service will be operated using Airbus A320 narrow-body aircraft, configured with both economy and business classes. The flight duration is approximately four hours. Flights will operate during daylight hours only, roughly between 8:30 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Moscow time.

Initially, flights will operate on July 18, 20, and 23, with daily flights commencing from July 25. On August 6, Aeroflot will add another flight, which will be operated daily from August 8 to mid-September.

Gelendzhik Airport had been closed since February 2022, along with ten other airports in the center and south of Russia, including Krasnodar, Anapa, Rostov-on-Don, Simferopol, Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Lipetsk, Voronezh, and Elista. Krasnodar Airport, where Gelendzhik's flights are landing and taking off, was closed to civilian aircraft after the start of the military operation in Ukraine in February 2022. However, Krasnodar Airport is now ready to accept and dispatch flights starting from July 10.

The resumption of flights to Gelendzhik marks the reopening of a key southern Russian air hub, responding in part to domestic tourism demand on the Black Sea coast. This move is expected to boost the region's economy and provide travellers with more options for leisure and business travel.

Ticket sales for the flights are already open, with customers able to purchase tickets from July 9. For more information, travellers are advised to visit the Aeroflot website or contact their local travel agent.
