Alila Hotels Opens First Urban Resort in Shanghai

Alila Hotels & Resorts has opened its first urban resort in Greater China, Alila Shanghai. Nestled in a revamped Four Seasons skyscraper, the serene retreat offers a blend of traditional Chinese aesthetics and modern luxury.

Spread across floors 12 to 17 and 27 to 39, Alila Shanghai boasts 186 rooms, including a lavish 2,626 sqft penthouse suite. The interiors, designed by local studio Level Line Design, feature rough-hewn stone, vaulted ceilings, and water features inspired by Song Dynasty landscape portraits, creating a tranquil atmosphere.

Executive Chef Scott Bao, known for his innovative Shanghainese cuisine, leads the culinary team. Diners can enjoy local ingredients and creative dishes at the resort's various dining options, such as the Japanese BBQ courtyard restaurant, a traditional tea house, and a rooftop bar offering panoramic views of Zhangyuan.

Alila Shanghai, located at 500 Weihai Road, Jing'an District, welcomes guests with room rates starting from RMB2,200. Following its successful Shanghai debut, Alila's next project is the Dong'ao Island resort in Zhuhai, set to open later this year. The resort also features a spa offering organic, plant-based treatments, a hydrotherapy pool, and a Turkish bath for ultimate relaxation.
