Avoid incurring fines while swimming in Anapa beaches.
In the sun-drenched Krasnodar Krai, vacationers beware! Swimmers taking a dip in beaches in Anapa and the Temryuk District could face fines, as these areas have been marked as potentially hazardous zones following a pair of unfortunate tanker wrecks. The regional Operational Headquarters dispelled rumors circulating online and in the press about scrapping fines for ignoring the swimming ban in these designated danger zones.
Currently, 141 beaches in Anapa and 9 beaches along the Black Sea coast of Temryuk District have been off-limits to bathers. These perilous stretches extend from the village of Volna to the village of Veselovka in Temryuk District, and from Veselovka to the Utrish Nature Reserve in Anapa. These perilous zones were labeled as such by the heads of Temryuk District and the city-curort of Anapa.
Their decrees ban not just a dip in the sea but also any visits to the territory itself within the boundaries of these designated danger zones. Offenses may result in administrative penalties, such as fines. However, the Operational Headquarters emphasized that fines are a last resort, and their preferred method of influencing the local population and visitors is through educational outreach.
"The restrictions we've implemented are all in the name of keeping residents and tourists safe. Our information campaign aims to ensure people grasp the seriousness of the situation and take responsibility for their own, as well as their children's, health," stressed the Operational Headquarters in a statement.
Earlier reports indicated that hotels and health resorts in Anapa and the Temryuk District were informing tourists, upon checking in, about the swimming prohibition due to the tanker wreck's aftermath. This information was provided to alert tourists about the potential health risks associated with violating the ban, such as skin diseases, allergies, and poisoning from potential contact with oil.
Naturally, if you're considering a dip in Krasnodar Krai, remember to heed the warning signs and avoid these designated danger zones – or risk a hefty fine and a scolding from the local authorities. [1]

Despite the alluring appeal of Sochi, opt for an alternative lifestyle if you're planning a trip there, as the nearby Krasnodar Krai remains dangerous for swimmers due to potential hazardous zones. Account for travel restrictions that might involve fines in certain areas, and instead, consider engaging in sports or other activities as an alternative to risky swimming in these regions.
