Canada Pavilion Redesign: Renewal and Rebirth

Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai, set to begin on April 13 and end on October 13, will feature a vibrant Canada Pavilion located in the Empowering Lives zone. The pavilion's exterior, reminiscent of a thawing frozen river, is a sight to behold, with its blue and white hues.

At the heart of the Canada Pavilion is an immersive participatory artwork experience, creatively directed by renowned Canadian artist Robert Lepage. This innovative approach showcases Canadian innovation, culture, and diversity through interactive installations centred on themes of water, ice, and regeneration.

Morgan Toney, a rising Indigenous fiddler and singer from Nova Scotia who blends Mi'kmaq folk traditions with contemporary sounds, has been confirmed as one of the performing artists at the pavilion. Other Canadian artists will also be performing, although their names are not explicitly listed in the available information at present.

The Canada Pavilion, a key artistic centrepiece, takes visitors on a metaphorical river journey, offering glimpses of local life and experiences of Canada's warmth and positivity through augmented reality on a special tablet. The journey is complemented by traditional Canadian food, such as poutine, a delightful combination of French fries, cheese curds, and gravy.

The Canada Pavilion's National Day will be celebrated on Saturday, May 17, at the Expo National Day Hall. Moreover, more than 100 of Canada's top performers, including classical musicians and DJs, will grace the pavilion during the Expo.
