Daily direct flight from Mexico City (CDMX) to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic commences operation by Aeromexico
Travel and Tour World is excited to announce that Aeromexico has launched a new daily nonstop route connecting Mexico City to Punta Cana. The new service, which began on June 29th, provides greater access for travelers from over 40 cities across Mexico to the Dominican Republic.
Upon arrival, the flight was greeted by a festive reception featuring traditional music and dance performances at Punta Cana International Airport. The reception underscores the importance of the new route and symbolizes the strengthening of ties between Mexico and the Dominican Republic. Dignitaries from both Aeromexico and the Dominican Republic were present at the ceremony.
The Mexico City Post reports that the inaugural flight of the Mexico City-Punta Cana route (Flight AM461) had a 98 percent occupancy rate, demonstrating strong demand for this new service.
The new route is operated by Aeromexico, likely using a Boeing 737 MAX (B38M) aircraft as indicated in recent flight history. The daily nonstop flights depart Mexico City around 08:45 AM CST and arrive in Punta Cana nearly 5 hours later, offering a flight duration of approximately 4 hours and 59 minutes. This route is direct, so there are no connecting cities on this particular flight.
The new service offers an additional 10,000 seats per month, expanding Aeromexico's Caribbean offerings as part of its broader strategy. Pricing for round trip economy fares typically starts around MXN 6,249, with promotional prices and fare classes that may have some restrictions.
