Dive Deep into the Heart of the Sea of Cortez
The incredible biodiversity between the Northern and Southern Sea of Cortez is nothing short of astounding. Dive into the paradise waters and witness the sea life that graces us from the boat, dinghies, and even while snorkeling. Potential marine sightings include dolphins, sea lions, diverse whale species, flying mantas, blue and brown-footed boobies, cormorants, frigate birds, and the endemic yellow-footed gull.
Dive Conditions in October
Average water temperatures in October are within the low to mid-80s, requiring a full 3mm wetsuit. While the conditions in the Sea of Cortez are generally calm, prepare yourself for the rough seas at times and pack some sea sickness medication, just in case.
Inclusions
- Three meals per day, snacks, beverages including soft drinks, juice, domestic beer & wine.
- 3-4 dives per day; dive equipment (tanks, weights, and weight belts) provided.
- Activities include diving, hiking, kayaking, snorkeling, and several land excursions exploring small towns and missions.
- 16% Mexican tax, port fees.

- Airport transfers (approximately $115 per person for the arranged group shuttle from Puerto Penasco to PHX Airport at the start of the trip and around $60 per person for a taxi from SJD Airport to Puerto Los Cabos at the end of the trip).

With our experienced photographer onboard, you'll receive ad hoc guidance on all elements of photography as needed, catering to both beginners and experts alike. While there are no formal photography workshops planned, this trip offers an abundance of photo opportunities for photographers and non-photographers alike.
Itinerary Overview
Sailing the undiscovered, uninhabited, and almost boatless Sea of Cortez, this trip is the opportunity of a lifetime. Listen for the sound of splashing, signaling dolphins, marlin, schools of bonitos, or even a whale in the distance. At night, indulge in the magnificent sounds of the sea: dolphins, whales, sea lions, or pelicans. Arrive at a new island daily and dive 3-4 times daily during the day. If you prefer to explore the remote islands during surface intervals, dinghies will take you ashore. Take advantage of the kayaks for peaceful cruises around islands.
Explore one island at a time and create memories that will last a lifetime. The Sea of Cortez remains a secret oasis where the desert meets the sea.
