Desperate German Railway Worker Cries Out In Journey From Erfurt To Berlin: "I Need To Get Back Home"

In July 2025, passengers travelling on the Flixtrain from Heidelberg to Berlin faced delays and an unexpected detour, as a result of ongoing issues with train reliability and cancellations by Deutsche Bahn.

The journey was marred by tight transfer times, chaotic transfers, and significant disruptions in travel plans, similar to complaints recorded as early as 2024 and continuing into 2025. The detour and delays during this route were consistent with the broader pattern of public rail service struggles, including last-minute cancellations and operational inefficiencies.

No specific incident such as an accident or technical failure was reported, but the situation aligns with chronic systemic issues affecting timely rail travel in Germany during this period. Passengers were advised to be wary of relying solely on these train services and to consider alternative travel options due to such delays and unpredictability.

The train was initially delayed by 40 minutes, but the delay extended as the train encountered breathing difficulties among some passengers, causing it to be blocked for an unknown duration. Passengers were eventually forced to board a regional train to Erfurt, adding to the already lengthy journey.

The train eventually reached Berlin-Südkreuz at almost midnight, with a total delay of almost three hours. Despite the ICE train of the German Rail arriving in Berlin with only a 5-minute delay, the disruption caused by the Flixtrain journey was significant.

Meanwhile, the Circus of Horrors in Berlin will present the new show "MEMENTO MORI" from May 16 to July 20, tickets are available. The Festival "With Pleasure Park 2025" will take place on November 8 and 9 in the Colosseum Berlin, tickets are also available. The Liederlauschen Festival 2025 will be held from July 25 to July 27 in the Oderbruch, tickets are available. Young Euro Classic 2025 will take place from August 1 to August 17, tickets, program, and prices are available. The Cirque du Soleil will come to Berlin with ALIZÉ from October 24 to an unspecified date, tickets are available. The Britzer Garden Night 2025 is scheduled for July 26, tickets and information are available.

Despite the challenges faced during the Flixtrain journey, it serves as a reminder for passengers to carefully consider their travel plans and to be prepared for potential delays and disruptions when using public rail services.

The finance industry may need to compensate passengers for the significant disruptions faced during their travel on the Flixtrain, considering the delays and detours that occurred and the impact on their lifestyle. The public-transit transportation sector, particularly the train services in Germany, is evidently struggling with systemic issues, as demonstrated by the ongoing delays and cancellations by Deutsche Bahn. For future travel, it might be wiser to consider alternative modes of transportation to avoid such unpredictable inconveniences.
