Flights Between Solapur and Mumbai, as well as Solapur and Bengaluru, Set to Commence on October 15th
Solapur, India - Solapur Airport, located in the heart of Maharashtra, underwent a significant renovation in September 2024, at a cost of Rs 60 crore. The renovation was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marking a new era for air travel in the region.
Following the renovation, the Solapur Airport is set to commence flight services to multiple destinations. The Solapur-Mumbai and Bengaluru-Solapur flights are scheduled to take off on October 15, 2024. The Bengaluru-Solapur flight will be operational on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 11:10 am, with the Solapur-Bengaluru flight following at 4:15 pm. The Solapur-Mumbai flight will be available on the same days at 12:55 pm, with the return flight at 2:45 pm.
The start of flight traffic from Solapur to Delhi is dated for May 27, 2023. However, the much-anticipated flights to Goa and Mumbai, originally planned for December 2024, were postponed. Yet, in June 2025, Fly91 inaugurated its flight service from Solapur to Goa, providing a much-needed connection for residents and tourists alike. Currently, the Solapur Airport has a flight to a single destination - Goa - four days a week, operated by airline Fly91.
Meanwhile, in other developments, the IT employees in Pune are demanding a phased opening of the Pune Metro's Shivajinagar-Hinjawadi line.
