Greek Cultural Day Celebrates Heritage, Mindful Living in Kuwait

Greek Cultural Day, hosted by the International Women's Group (IWG) and the Embassy of Greece in Kuwait, took place on October 5, 2025, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The event, themed 'Greece - Healthy Nutrition, Mindful Living, and the Power of Human Connection', celebrated Greek culture, heritage, and traditions.

The day began with a warm welcome from His Excellency H. E. Ioannis Plotas, Ambassador of Greece, who highlighted the historical ties between Greece and Kuwait. He noted the passage of Greek ancestors to Failaka Island, contributing to the cultural appreciation between the two nations.

Mrs. Marika Kochlamazashvili, President of IWG, expressed gratitude to attendees in her opening remarks, acknowledging the support of organizers. The event showcased traditional Grecian outfits, dances, and authentic Greek cuisine, culminating in lively Greek music and dances like the Island, Zebekiko, and Zorba.

Ms. Eleni Dimitriadou, a Greek psychotherapist, shared insights on balanced living and presented a retreat experience video. She discussed the importance of mindful living and human connection, themes central to Greek culture.

Greek Cultural Day concluded with a celebration of Greek heritage, fostering cultural appreciation between Greece and Kuwait. The event highlighted the power of human connection, mindful living, and healthy nutrition, leaving attendees with a deeper understanding and appreciation of Greek culture.
