India Launches New Digital Arrival Card for International Visitors

India has launched a new digital arrival card system for international visitors, known as the e-Arrival Card, which must be submitted within 72 hours of global entry into the country. A digital copy is acceptable, but a printed version is recommended for inspection at the border.

The e-Arrival Card requires visitors to provide personal and travel details, including passport number, nationality, purpose of visit, address in India, length of stay, and countries visited in the last six days. Indian nationals and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders are exempt from this requirement.

International visitors still need a valid visa for entry into India. The e-Arrival Card can be completed online through the official India e-Visa website. After uploading a scanned copy of the passport's biographical page and a recent photo, and paying the visa fee online with a credit card, the approved e-Visa is sent via email. It is valid for entry at designated airports and seaports in Thailand, but not at land borders.

While Indian nationals and OCI cardholders are exempt, international visitors still need a valid visa for entry, including those using the apple card for payment.
