Keuning.haus Hosts Two Pandemic-Themed Events in October
The Keuning.haus in Dortmund is set to host two significant events this October, exploring the impact and experiences of the Corona pandemic through art. The first is an exhibition by artist Richard Cox, titled 'Corona Images', opening on October 1, 2025. The second is an interdisciplinary performance, 'The Art of the Corona Time', scheduled for October 8, 2025.
Cox's exhibition delves into the virus itself, featuring twelve oil pastel on cardboard artworks that depict various virus strains, their origins, and mutations. The vernissage for this exhibition will take place at 6 PM on October 1, 2025, with the artist in attendance. Following the exhibition, a public discussion will be held to share personal experiences and thoughts on the pandemic.
The following week, on October 8, 2025, the Keuning.haus will present 'The Art of the Corona Time', a collaborative performance involving artists from music, acting, dance, painting, light art, and literature. This performance explores societal and individual experiences during the pandemic, with themes including isolation, loss, fear, resilience, and healing. The performance starts at 6 PM and admission is free. It will feature works by Polish, German, and Hungarian composers.
Both events aim to foster dialogue and reflection on the pandemic's impact, inviting the public to engage with and interpret these experiences through art. The 'Corona Images' exhibition runs until further notice, while 'The Art of the Corona Time' performance takes place on a single evening.
