Larnaca to Host 'Weaving Unity' Bicommunal Art Event at Larnaca Biennale 2025

Larnaca is set to host a unique bicommunal artistic initiative, Weaving Unity, as an official parallel event of the Larnaca Biennale 2025. The project, initiated by Eleni Keshishian, aims to symbolically redefine the 'Green Line' dividing Cyprus through art and music. The final artwork will be unveiled at a public celebration on October 26, 2025, featuring live performances and visual art interventions.

The event will kick off with a participatory weaving workshop on October 25, 2025, led by Ifigeneia Papageorgiou and Konstantinos Charilaou, the curator and producer of Weaving Unity. The workshop will result in a collective artwork created using recycled and personal fabrics woven onto a metal grid. The final artwork will then be publicly displayed at Zouhouri Square as part of the Larnaca Biennale 2025 exhibition.

The celebration on October 26 will take place at the Space for Creation and Culture in Larnaca, open to all communities aged 18 and above. It promises to be a vibrant event, bringing together diverse artists and communities to celebrate unity and creativity.

Weaving Unity is a two-day initiative that seeks to foster dialogue and understanding through art and music. The final artwork, created by the community, will serve as a symbol of unity and a testament to the power of bicommunal collaboration. The project is an exciting addition to the Larnaca Biennale 2025, promising to enrich the cultural landscape of Larnaca and Cyprus.
