New flight paths unveiled by Copa Airlines across Latin America
Copa Airlines Expands Network with New Routes
Copa Airlines, a subsidiary of Copa Holdings, S.A., and a member of the Star Alliance airline network, is set to begin service to three new destinations, including Los Cabos, Mexico, Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic, and Salvador de Bahia, Brazil.
Starting from December 4, 2025, Copa Airlines will operate flights to Los Cabos, Mexico, three times a week on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Departure from Panama's Tocumen International Airport is at 9:09 a.m. local time, arriving at Los Cabos International Airport later the same day. Return flights leave Los Cabos at 1:33 p.m. and arrive back in Panama City at 8:30 p.m. local time. These flights will be operated using a Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
This new route will be the first-ever nonstop flight connecting Los Cabos with Central America via Panama City, facilitating easier access to the Baja California Peninsula for travelers from the region and beyond.
Los Cabos, located at the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California Peninsula, is known for its dramatic desert-meets-sea landscapes, crystal-clear beaches, and the iconic rock formation "El Arco." The city offers a wide array of recreational and sports activities, vibrant nightlife in Cabo San Lucas, and is recognized as one of Mexico's top culinary hotspots.
In addition to Los Cabos, Copa Airlines will also resume service to Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic, beginning January 15, 2026. Flights will operate three times a week on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Departure time from Panama for Santiago de los Caballeros is 11:26 a.m., and arrival time at Cibao International Airport is 2:56 p.m. (local time).
Resuming service to Santiago de los Caballeros is about restoring vital links that foster economic growth and regional integration, according to Pedro Heilbron, CEO of Copa Airlines. Heilbron also stated that the addition of these routes will enhance connectivity across the region through the Hub of the Americas located at Tocumen International Airport in Panama City.
Copa Airlines remains committed to consolidating the Hub of the Americas as Latin America's premier connection hub, driving new economic opportunities in the markets it serves. With the addition of these routes, Copa Airlines expands its network to 91 destinations across 32 countries.
The airline will also resume service to Salvador de Bahia, Brazil, beginning January 7, 2026. Return flights from Salvador de Bahia to Panama will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, departing at 1:30 a.m. Return flights from Santiago de los Caballeros to Panama will depart on the same days at 3:51 p.m. Departure time from Panama for Salvador de Bahia is 4:03 p.m., and arrival time at Deputado Luís Eduardo Magalhães International Airport is 12:30 a.m.
Travelers can book flights to these destinations at copa.com, through sales offices, the airline's call center, or their preferred travel agency.
