Title: The Razzies' Most Disappointing Genre Entries: Joker's "Folie à Deux" and Madame Web
It's that time of the year again when the Razzie haters come out to play, highlighting the cinematic disasters of the year with their mock awards show. For 2024, the Razzies are zeroing in on films like Madame Web and Joker: Folie a Deux. While these films didn't exactly set the box office on fire, they do have a certain cult potential.
Some might even argue that Joker 2 is an audacious takedown of its fans and the industry by director Todd Phillips, who seemed to be taking aim at those who didn't appreciate the first Joker flick. Lady Gaga's performance, though, was a standout, even if some felt her character could've used more musical numbers. The cut songs? They made it onto her Prince-inspired Batman companion album, "Har(r)Lee Quinn."
Other nominees for this year's Razzies include Eli Roth's Borderlands, Jennifer Lopez's Netflix film Atlas, and Bill Skarsgård's Crow reboot. We'll stick up for Madame Web here, even though she lost her mother while researching spiders in the Amazon. But Mufasa: The Lion King? That one deserves the ire.

The Io9 community might argue that Eli Roth's Borderlands or Bill Skarsgård's Crow reboot deserve a Razzie, as they didn't receive nominations but were widely panned. In the future, technological advancements in movie-making could potentially lead to even more questionable cinematic choices, further fueling the Razzie discussions.
