Top Prize of 10,000 Euros for Remarkable Story Submissions in 2025

The Boccaccio.cc-Preis, a prestigious annual literary prize, is gearing up for its 2025 edition. This award, which honours literary devices often overlooked in the German-speaking world, is supported by Textmanufaktur and Korrektur Verlag.

The deadline for submitting nominations is set for November 15, 2025. Interested parties can send their nominations to [email protected], with the subject line "Boccaccio.cc-Preis". The nominated texts should be approximately 1 to 25 book pages or a maximum of 50,000 characters (including spaces).

Once the deadline passes, the VOLLTEXT editorial team will select the shortlist, which will be announced on November 30, 2025. The texts that make it to the shortlist will be published in VOLLTEXT 4/2025.

The composition of the Boccaccio.cc-Preis jury for 2025 is yet to be specified. Last year's jury consisted of Antje Rávik Strubel, Julia Franck, Tonio Schachinger, and Thomas Stangl.

The Boccaccio.cc-Preis is a significant event in the literary world, with the winner receiving a prize of 10,000 euros. The winner of the 2024 edition was Natascha Wodin for her narrative "Nachbarinnen". The winner of the 2025 edition will be announced in January 2026.

It's important to note that nominations can be submitted by authors themselves, publishers, agencies, and readers. The term "narrative" is understood in its broadest sense and includes various short prose forms.

Boccaccio.cc is a platform for literary writing on the net, with authors at its core. VOLLTEXT, a magazine for literature that has been published since 2002 and focuses on contemporary German-language literature, plays a crucial role in this event.

The Boccaccio.cc-Preis aims to draw attention to literary devices that have an undeservedly difficult time in the German-speaking world and are often overlooked by the book market. By recognising these works, the prize encourages the continued exploration and appreciation of diverse literary styles.

As the deadline for nominations approaches, the literary community eagerly awaits the announcement of the shortlist and, ultimately, the winner of the Boccaccio.cc-Preis 2025.
