Changi Airport's Enhanced Transit Experience: Free Sentosa Tours for Weary Flyers
Starting from 1 August 2025, international transit or transfer passengers at Singapore's Changi Airport with a layover of between 5.5 and 24 hours can enjoy a complimentary 2.5-hour guided Sentosa Discovery Tour. This limited-time offer is a collaboration between the Singapore Tourism Board, Sentosa Development Corporation, and Singapore Airlines, Scoot, and Air India.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the free Sentosa tour, passengers must meet certain criteria. They must be transit or transfer passengers at Changi Airport, have a layover duration between 5.5 and 24 hours, and their connecting flight must depart after 11:30 pm Singapore Standard Time (SGT). Passengers are required to register and book the tour online in advance, and they must present a valid passport, boarding pass, and tour booking confirmation upon arrival. Depending on nationality, a Singapore transit or entry visa may also be necessary.
What to Expect
The Sentosa Discovery Tour offers a unique blend of Singapore's natural beauty and modern attractions. Highlights of the tour include Sentosa's scenic coastlines, the Sentosa Sensoryscape, Resorts World Sentosa, and hilltop viewpoints. The tour also includes visits to Universal Studios and Resorts World Sentosa, as well as the heritage trail of Fort Siloso.
Passengers will have the opportunity to explore Sentosa's tranquil beaches, such as Palawan Beach, which is the southernmost point of continental Asia. The tour also includes a visit to the suspension bridge leading to a small islet at Palawan Beach.
Additional Experiences
Passengers may have the option to pay for additional experiences, such as the Wings of Time fireworks show on Sentosa. Weary flyers can turn their layovers into a breezy beachside holiday, taking advantage of the Sentosa escapade's sun-kissed, resort-style twist to the existing Changi Transit Programme.
Other Attractions at Changi Airport
In addition to the Sentosa tours, Changi Airport offers a variety of attractions to make even the longest layovers feel indulgent. Passengers can visit the iconic Jewel with its rain vortex, enjoy a rooftop pool, cinema, shopping centres, and souvenirs. The Singapore Oceanarium, formerly known as the S.E.A. Aquarium, is now reopened at Resorts World Sentosa, offering 22 thoughtfully designed zones. For those seeking a more cultural experience, the existing Free Singapore Tour takes passengers into the city for an experience of Marina Bay Sands, the Merlion, and Kampong Glam.
Adventure Sip is available near Siloso Beach in Sentosa, offering a refreshing beverage to weary travellers. Tranquil beaches and the Sentosa SkyJet, offering panoramic cable car rides and photo opportunities, are also available for visitors in Sentosa.
