Undercover Fish Conduits Discovered at Aquarium of the Bay
Let's Hit the Aquarium!
Aquariums are a damn cool place, man! Me and my buddy Danny can't get enough of 'em, especially the Aquarium of the Bay in San Francisco. Located right at Pier 39, this bad boy is one we've passed a few times in the past, but this year, we finally decided to dive in!
The Aquarium of the Bay isn't your average fish tank, no sirree. It's spread over several floors, giving you the feeling of a real underwater adventure. From the get-go, you're hit with loads of info on marine life in the bay area and how it's evolved over time. There's also a short lesson on trash in the bay and some kid-friendly interactive areas.
Next, you're whisked away to a green screen photo spot and then drop down to the main event. The first room is a jaw-dropper, filled with different types of jellyfish. From tiny pink ones to huge, wobbly ones, it's mesmerizing watching them float about. Trust me, folks, I'm totally smitten with jellyfish, and this spot had me grinning ear to ear.
The first room leads to a tunnel, the Ray and Stephanie Lane: Nearshore Tunnel. It's a pretty long, winding tube that takes you on a tour of local bay fish. There's a mix of big, old-looking fish and smaller schools swimming around. It's a blast walking through and taking in all the local sea life.
After the tunnel, you hit a room full of goofily named fish, perfect for snapping pics and sending them to your mates. There were even some ridiculously cute puffer fish! Then, we stumbled upon the Drapper Startup Shark Tunnel.
This tunnel is a bit darker and a tad shorter than the last, but it's no less impressive. It's a shark-lover's paradise, filled with massive, razor-toothed beasts and loads of rays. It's less crowded with fish but has no shortage of awe-inspiring sea creatures.
The shark tunnel spits you out into a bigger area with reptiles, squirrels, and other local critters. The highlight was the massive tank where you can touch a sting ray, a starfish, and more. Don't forget the otters playing around in their tank, too!
The experience ends with a trip through a gift shop and a glimpse of the sea otter statues by the entrance. The Aquarium of the Bay is one of the best aquariums I've ever been to. The variety of sea life was off the chain, and the interactive experiences made it even better. If you're ever in San Francisco, make sure to check it out!

As a family, we were enthralled by the diversity of sea life at the Aquarium of the Bay, making it an ideal attraction for children to learn about marine creatures up close. After our day at the aquarium, we discussed introducing a lifestyle centered around home-and-garden projects that mimic the marine ecosystem, encouraging future travel to exotic locations that may harbor similar wildlife.
